The Warehouse is introducing fresh produce to 10 more stores – bringing the total to 22 across Aotearoa.

Stores in Auckland’s Takanini, Hamilton’s Hillcrest, Rotorua, Hastings, Gisborne, Palmerston North, Nelson, Christchurch’s Northlands, Rangiora and Rolleston are the latest to have produce on offer.

This represents almost a quarter of The Warehouse stores across the country, according to a spokesperson.

“We see fruit and vegetables as an important part of our grocery essentials offering for Kiwi families,” said The Warehouse Group chief executive officer Nick Grayston.

“Adding another 10 stores means around a quarter of our stores now have fresh produce available for our customers, available at the same great value price in all 22 locations.”

The produce range is reviewed weekly and is based on seasonal availability.

“The Warehouse is selling carrots, onions, potatoes, apples, oranges, bananas, mandarins, capsicum, avocados, garlic and tomatoes,” said a spokesperson.

The Warehouse first began its 2023 fresh produce trial back in February at six stores, stating more would be added if it was successful.

Previously, The Warehouse introduced The Warehouse Extra stores which offered fresh food items in 2006.

Three stores were opened, but the format ultimately failed, and they were changed back to being original The Warehouse stores within two years of operation.
