Green co-leader Chlöe Swarbrick has again been kicked out of Parliament after refusing to apologise for a comment she made yesterday in the House.
Yesterday, Swarbrick was kicked out of Parliament during an urgent debate on recognising Palestine as a state. Earlier, when heading into the House, NZ First leader Winston Peters spoke out against Swarbrick's removal.
"I didn't agree with one thing she said, but it wasn't offensive enough to be booted out," he said.
2 Kiwi mum held by US immigration authorities hopes son, 6, will be released
A friend of Sarah Shaw, a Kiwi detained at the US-Canada border, says they're expecting to hear soon whether her six-year-old son will be released.
Shaw and her son Isaac, who live in Washington state, were detained three weeks ago after dropping her other children off in Vancouver to catch a flight.
Victoria Besancon said Shaw was "absolutely terrified" when she and her son were bundled into a giant white van with no markings on it at the border.
