Two killed after car hits power pole near Paeroa

Two people have died after a car hit a power pole in Waikato last night.

The crash occurred on State Highway 2 near Paeroa, between Jackson Road and Rahu Road, at around 11.40pm.

Police said both the driver and passenger died after the car hit the power pole.

Inquiries into the crash are underway.
