Man, 36, arrested over fatal Auckland bus stabbing

A man who allegedly attacked two people on an Auckland bus last night has been arrested and charged, police say.

One man died and a second man was seriously injured after being attacked by the same person in two separate incidents aboard a bus in the east of the city.

The incidents occurred on the number 76 bus travelling from Glen Innes towards Ōrakei around 8pm.

Police confirm deaths of two people in large house fire in Foxton Beach

Two people have died in a house fire which broke out in Foxton Beach earlier today, police have confirmed.

A Fire and Emergency New Zealand (FENZ) spokesperson said crews were called to a house fire at Foxton Beach — which is about 5km west of Foxton and 90 minutes north of Wellington — shortly after 5am.

ONE BLACK CAPS DEBUT

Canterbury’s Mitchell Hay will replace the injured Tom Blundell in the New Zealand team to play the second Test against the West Indies starting tomorrow in Wellington.
