Police are investigating after a man was found dead at a property in Palmerston North this morning.
Emergency services were called to property on Wilson Cres in Highbury around 11.30am, where a man was found unresponsive, Inspector Phil Ward said.
Police alerted ambulance and immediately commenced first aid.
"Unfortunately, this was unsuccessful, and the man was confirmed deceased a short time later," Ward said.
Enquiries were underway to determine the circumstances surrounding the man’s death.
A scene examination was completed and cordons on Wilson Cres were stood down.
"Police will continue to maintain a visible presence in the area in the coming days," he said.
"There is no risk to the public following this incident."
