An online fundraiser has been launched after a family on Auckland's North Shore lost their "treasured possessions" in a "devastating" house fire on Friday.
After the blaze tore through their home in Glenfield, the family of seven adults and children aged between 1 and 17 years old were on a "long journey of rebuilding their home and lives", according to a Givealittle page.
The fundraiser, set up by family member Mellisa Marsters on Sunday, said the whānau have always put others first, and now "they are the ones who need our support".
"They have lost so much clothing, personal belongings, work tools and machinery, household items and treasured possessions," she wrote.
The page said any funds are to go towards the family's essentials, such as replacing work items and covering accommodation costs.
The page had raised more than $2000 as of 4pm this afternoon.
